Hall Fuels vehicles have been updated to be more cyclist and pedestrian friendly.

The Hall Fuels fleet now have proximity sensors fitted to detect movement in the driver's blind spot. If a cyclist pulls alongside an audible alert sounds in the cab to warn the driver how far away from the vehicle they are. Audible alarms have also been fitted to alert pedestrians and cyclists that the vehicles are making a left turn in an urban area. This is particularly relevant to Halls as most cyclist fatalities in London are as a result of a vehicle crushing a cyclist when turning left.

The vehicles are now Chapter 8 compliant and easier to see at night. Chapter 8 is a specification which ensures that vehicles working on roads are highly visible to the public. This means that Hall Fuels are now able to work on highway projects, such as the widening of a motorway.

Whilst these updates make the vehicles more cyclist and pedestrian friendly, they are also more efficient thanks to the addition of new tracking systems.

The tracking systems monitor the tankers in real time, which enables the planner to check the map and divert the vehicle if an emergency delivery is required. The tracking system is also linked with the vehicles pumping system which details the exact location where any fuel has been discharged.

The Hall Fuels fleet of vehicles are also fitted with onboard computers that speed up the flow of information to and from the transport office. This enables the planners to monitor fuel quantities left on the vehicle throughout the day and feed more jobs down to the drivers. This removes the need to delay the drivers by calling them and asking that they calculate how much fuel they have left on board. The computer also generates an electronic POD (proof of delivery) which can be emailed to the customer if required.

This updates forms part of Hall Fuels ongoing commitment to its customers.

Tankscout Fuel Monitoring customers can now view their tank levels from anywhere, with the launch of Tankscout mobile. The mobile site enables registered users to login and view the current levels of their tanks as well as the historical usage. Alerts are displayed informing customers when they are getting low. Customers are presented with contact details of their local depot with active telephone numbers so they can instantly call the depot.The mobile site has been optimised to work on iPhone, Android and BlackBerry devices. Hall Fuels one of the first to attain FORS Gold

Hall Fuels has attained FORS Gold accreditation level. They are one of the first hauliers in the country to achieve this level. FORS (Freight Operator Recognition System) is a Transport for London initiative aimed at improving the standards and quality of freight deliveries in the capital. To achieve this level, Hall Fuels proved that (amongst other things) they had decreased their carbon emissions and vehicle idling, had introduced online safe and economical driver training, implemented a new tyre management policy and showed a siginificant (24%) increase in productivity by reducing mileage and increasing volume delivered. The FORS Gold accreditation ensures that Hall Fuels remains at the forefront of fuel supply to a wide range of London based companies and shows our committment to supplying fuel to the commercial sector.

FORS Accreditaion

Hall Fuels has been awarded FORS accreditation. FORS is the Frieght Operator Recognition Scheme, which is a quality and performance scheme for the freight industry in the London area. Under the scheme, Hall Fuels will monitor fuel consumption, vehicle emissions and incidents amongst a number of other areas. These are then compared against other FORS members. FORS acreditation provides proof for current and prospective customers that Hall Fuels operates to high standards.
Bronze and Silver standards area available and Hall Fuels has attained the Silver standard, the work for which was carried out by Hall Fuels staff.
